S. Korea - A South Korean TV star has resigned over claims he secretly filmed a woman’s lower body, in the country’s latest celebrity spycam scandal. Presenter Kim Sung-joon pleaded for ‘forgiveness’ after police allegedly caught him red-handed at a metro station in Seoul. more

ID - A Monteview man is facing a felony charge after he admitted to hiding a camera in a bathroom and videotaping people naked, according to court documents. He contacted deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, saying he wanted to turn himself in. During the phone call with a deputy, Roundy said he videotaped people taking showers at his home. He told the deputy he knew it was wrong and wanted to know if he could turn himself in on Friday. more

N. Ireland - An ex-children’s nurse accused of inventing a VIP paedophile gang told jurors he set up a hidden camera to film a boy using a toilet out of “curiosity” to see if he found sexual gratification in it. more

India - Days after a 27-year-old model had filed a case against a skin specialist popular among celebrities, accusing her of clandestinely installing a spy camera in her clinic at Lokhan Complex, Andheri West, and taking her pictures, the Oshiwara police arrested the doctor on Monday. more

FL - A Firestone Complete Auto Care employee was arrested Tuesday after recording at least two female customers using the restroom, the Port Orange Police Department... Police were notified of the recording after one of the victims found a recorder inside the women’s restroom. more

LA - The Jefferson Parish District Attorney has brought formal charges in the case of a camera in a restroom at Smoothie King headquarters in Metairie... He allegedly put the camera under a bathroom cabinet at the company's offices when he worked for Smoothie King. more

Canada - A 22-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly filming multiple women changing in a unisex change room at the Eaton Centre... The man then entered the change rooms and placed a homemade recording device on the floor between change room stalls and recorded numerous females changing. A woman occupying one of the change rooms noticed the device on the floor and immediately notified security and police. more

IN - A 20-year-old employee of an Indiana auto parts store has been charged with possession of child pornography and voyeurism after two 10-year-old girls uncovered a cell phone used to film in the company's staff bathroom... The filming device was discovered by the girls hidden behind a plunger and bottles of cleaning products. It had been placed slightly to the left of the toilet. One of the girls had just used the toilet and the other was partially undressed when they discovered the camera. more

Canada - A man pleaded guilty in a London courtroom Tuesday for secretly video taping his family and friends while they were using the bathroom. The court heard that the man set up a hidden camera in the bathroom of his home and recorded about 20 people between 2010 and 2017. He was charged by police after his daughter discovered the camera and told her mother. more

Spycam Facts:

SpyCam Story #614 - Recent SpyCam News

OH - A Catawba man was arrested and jailed Monday after investigators say he used a covert camera to record two girls in the shower at his home.

Jack Lee Maley, 45, of 350 N. Champaign St., was taken into custody and charged with three counts of illegal use of minor in nudity oriented material or performance, second degree felonies. One of the juveniles found the camera and reported it to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Further investigation revealed that a second juvenile female had also been captured on video as she showered. Neither juvenile was aware they were being recorded. (more)

CA - A Southern California computer repairman suspected of installing spyware on laptops that enabled him to snap and download photographs of women showering and undressing in their homes was arrested Wednesday at his home, police said.

Police began investigating when a Fullerton resident complained about suspicious messages appearing on his daughter's computer last year...

The software sent fake error messages telling users to "fix their internal sensor soon," and "try putting your laptop near hot steam for several minutes to clean the sensor," Goodrich said. (video) (No blond jokes, please.)

KS - Hiding in plain sight, a camera recording people without their knowledge or consent. Police are trying to figure out who put a hidden camera in the changing room of the north YMCA. It was hidden inside a clothing hook.

"Someone bumped into it and if fell off and discovered it was a camera," said Lt. Randy Reynolds of the Wichita Police Department. (more)

CA - A man arrested by Glendora Police for placing a spycam in a Starbucks restroom in Glendora pleaded not guilty in a Pomona Superior Courthouse Tuesday morning.

William Zafra Velasco, 25, was arrested May 4 after he confessed to installing a hidden camera disguised as a plastic hook in a women’s Starbucks restroom in Glendora. (more)

OH - A 59-year-old Tallmadge man was sentenced to seven years in prison Monday for using his cellphone to film a 13-year-old girl getting out of the shower.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Paul Gallagher sentenced William Chesrown to prison after he was found guilty by a jury on May 16 of gross sexual imposition, two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

The prosecutor said in December the young girl noticed Chesrown's cellphone pointing at her with the record light on as she got out of the shower. She discovered five nude videos of herself saved on the phone. (more)

FL - The manager at a Starbucks store in the Brandon Town Center mall called police after finding a device left behind in the cafe's public restroom.

It turns out it was a camera -- but the apparent spy was not as sly as he thought. Police say he left the camera rolling as he got in his car one day, giving them a glimpse of his license plate.

Eric Efaw was arrested and charged with voyeurism yesterday. Police say he admitted to putting the camera in the unisex bathroom, and that he's done it six to seven times in the last two months. (more)

Canada - A suspended Mountie charged with sex crimes by two different police services across the country is alleged to have secretly filmed women 34 times inside the bathroom of his south Ottawa apartment, during sex and in hotel rooms. more

FL - Robert Privette, 49, was staying at the DoubleTree resort in Key West when he is alleged to have heard two women in the room next door returning from the beach. Privette is then said to have managed to slide a tiny spy camera surreptitiously under the door of the room in order to film the pair, aged 24 and 27, as they undressed after a day on the sands. more

AR - A 41-year-old man accused of secretly videotaping a female teenager with a hidden camera in a Bluetooth speaker is facing video voyeurism and child pornography charges. more

India - A man arrested for voyeurism jumped into the sea while being taken to the beach by the police to collect evidence on Wednesday. His hands were cuffed. His body is yet to be found. more

UK - A former presenter of BBC News...who has shifted his career from being a British TV news personality to evangelical preaching, said most of these offences were committed with children during the past 30 years...He also admitted to two counts of making explicit videos of children... more

UK - A man has admitted using a hidden camera to film people using the toilet in Bristol...Prosecutor May Li said Andrews was discovered when one of the victims noticed a green light above a doorway and saw it was a hidden camera. MI - A Canton man pleaded guilty last month to three felony charges associated with illegal voyeurism at an Aqua-Tots swim school in his hometown... Police said they were dispatched to the Canton Aqua-Tots swim school for young children...because a woman saw a recording device targeting her changing stall. She reported her suspicions to staff. more

UK - staff and parents with children at Denmead Junior School were in shock at the grim discovery of an iPhone in a vent. Action was taken by the school. A 23-year-old man from Waterlooville (was arrested) on suspicion of voyeurism. He has been released under investigation. more

CT - An investigation that began in South Windsor in August that led to a Manchester man being charged with voyeurism after filming people in a locker room at L.A. Fitness resulted in more charges being filed against him Friday stemming from similar incidents in Farmington, police said. South Windsor police said that Selby had placed his cellphone in one of the lockers and left the door open. more

CA - A Desert Hot Springs man who was previously required to register as a sex offender pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of filming people inside a grocery store bathroom in Cathedral City...10 misdemeanor counts of unlawful use of a concealed camera to secretly videotape.... 2013 - Prosecutors alleged he concealed a video camera in a paper bag and entered a woman's restroom in a Los Angeles Macy's department store dressed as a woman and secretly videotaped women using the restroom. more

AZ - A Phoenix-based American Airlines flight attendant was sentenced to five years of probation for taking videos of men and boys using public restrooms. more

WA - Ex-South Seattle College director Gene Baker 52 was arrested last Tuesday after a teenage tenant of his told police that he had planted a camera in an alarm clock in her bedroom and that it had captured footage of her in various states of dress. more

Japan - An analysis of 406 patients who visited a sex addiction clinic here for treatment for camera voyeurism showed that they took 1,000 peeping shots on average before seeking medical help, a clinic official reported. more

S. Korea - Police recently busted a website that was used to share pornographic pictures -- including spycam porn -- arresting the suspected owner and booking 86 others without detention. more

UK - A man who took covert video footage of young women in a state of undress has been jailed for six months and placed on the sex offenders register. Jonathan Thomas Watson, 21, from Harrogate, videoed one woman as she was getting changed in a cubicle at Knaresborough Swimming Pool...Watson filmed six other females at a property in Knaresborough using similar covert means. more

FL - Investigators say a Florida teacher confessed to secretly videotaping a high school student as she changed her shirt. more

S. Korea - After a months-long investigation into Yang Jin-ho, the owner of the nation's two biggest file sharing sites, police have confirmed the existence of a million-dollar cartel for the production and distribution of spycam porn videos. Apart from owning WeDisk and Filenori, file sharing platforms where spycam clips and revenge porn were circulated, police found Yang had a hand in virtually every stage of the profitable operation. more
