He contacted deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, saying he wanted to turn himself in. During the phone call with a deputy, Roundy said he videotaped people taking showers at his home. He told the deputy he knew it was wrong and wanted to know if he could turn himself in on Friday. more

LA - The Jefferson Parish District Attorney has brought formal charges in the case of a camera in a restroom at Smoothie King headquarters in Metairie... He allegedly put the camera under a bathroom cabinet at the company's offices when he worked for Smoothie King. more
Canada - A 22-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly filming multiple women changing in a unisex change room at the Eaton Centre... The man then entered the change rooms and placed a homemade recording device on the floor between change room stalls and recorded numerous females changing. A woman occupying one of the change rooms noticed the device on the floor and immediately notified security and police. more
IN - A 20-year-old employee of an Indiana auto parts store has been charged with possession of child pornography and voyeurism after two 10-year-old girls uncovered a cell phone used to film in the company's staff bathroom... The filming device was discovered by the girls hidden behind a plunger and bottles of cleaning products. It had been placed slightly to the left of the toilet. One of the girls had just used the toilet and the other was partially undressed when they discovered the camera. more
Canada - A man pleaded guilty in a London courtroom Tuesday for secretly video taping his family and friends while they were using the bathroom. The court heard that the man set up a hidden camera in the bathroom of his home and recorded about 20 people between 2010 and 2017. He was charged by police after his daughter discovered the camera and told her mother. more

Store Manager Used Hidden Camera to Spy on Customers in Restroom
A North Carolina man was arrested after the hidden camera he allegedly used to spy on people in the bathroom was discovered, the Black Mountain Police Department said.
Robert Thomas Orr was charged Friday with six counts of felony secret peeping, police said in a news release shared on Facebook. Police said Orr used an electronic device to spy on people in another room...
The room in question was a public women’s restroom at Black Mountain Stove & Chimney, where a spy camera was discovered behind an air filter, the Citizen Times reported...
Officials said Orr owns multiple properties, including some rental units, and an investigation of the iPad showed one of the “peeping images” is of a tenant... more

NY - A former New York nanny is fighting back after she says she was surreptitiously recorded in a bathroom owned by a powerful and well-connected couple, the New York Post reports. Vanessa Rivas alleges she found a spycam inside the guest bathroom of the apartment where she used to work as a nanny, a place where she often showered.
UK - Airbnb guest finds surveillance camera inside his rented apartment but is told he ‘consented’ to it as it appeared in photos of the property...According to Airbnb's Terms and Conditions, a surveillance device must be disclosed. more

arrested by police. An investigation revealed that Pelgrift had entered the home and

FL - Investigators say they have uncovered an extensive amount of videos and images of under-age students secretly filmed while undressing by a Bloomingdale High School teacher who was arrested last month on a video voyeurism charge. Mark Ackett, 50, who resigned as a fashion design teacher, now faces an additional 353 charges. He was first arrested on Sept. 11 — the same day a 17-year-old student in his class discovered two cell phones hidden in the classroom changing area where she and her classmates disrobed for fashion assignments. more

Prolific Spy Camera Man Posts Videos Gets Caught
WI - A 28-year-old man is charged with surreptitiously filming women in various states of undress in three locations, including a Target changing room at the Fox River Mall.
Andrew R. Persen of Appleton was charged Monday with 10 counts of capturing an intimate representation without consent, five counts of invading privacy with a surveillance device and a single charge of posting a sexually explicit image without consent...
Besides Target, locations included his own bathroom and the bathroom and bedroom at a female friend's house, according to the criminal complaint...
According to the criminal complaint:
The friend told police on Oct. 11 that her friend had found a nude video of her on a pornography website and she believed Persen had posted it without her consent. The video was posted around June of this year and the website indicated it had hundreds of public views.
She said the username the video was posted under was one that Persen commonly used on social media...
Police searched Persen's house on Oct. 20 and found "numerous" electronic storage devices.
He said that he had put hidden cameras in his friend's bedroom and bathroom in the spring and also in a Target dressing room. He also said he put a camera in his own shower to capture another woman.
Police found videos of the friend filmed at her home. Two detailed in the complaint clearly show him installing the cameras.
One video showed a woman using his shower.
Investigators also found 66 video files that appeared to show the inside of a changing room at Target. If the date and time display is correct, it appears the videos were recorded between 3:20 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. on April 6.
One video appears to show him setting up the camera in the changing room at 3:18 p.m. with his face clearly visible. more
Unfortunately, this type of story appears in the news several times per week. And... these are the failures; this is the tip of all video voyeur activity.

VA - That case involves the 20 charges of filming a nude person without their consent, seven charges of entering a home under false pretenses, and two charges of possessing marijuana that are pending against former Windor Hills maintenance worker John David Mills, 34, of Montgomery County. Prosecutors say Mills went to women’s apartments, told them their bathroom needed repair, and left behind a spy watch equipped with a hidden video camera. He then returned to collect the watch, amassing a collection of surreptitious videos of residents in their bathrooms. At a hearing in May, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Patrick Jensen said that Mills told investigators that the videos had become an addiction and that he had secretly filmed more than 20 people. more

FL - The Citrus County Sheriff's Office says a church employee has been arrested on several charges including video voyeurism. In a press release, deputies say the man was an employee of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church. He is identified as 36-year-old Chad Robison from Hernando. He worked as a worship director from 2011 to 2017... After investigating, Internet Crimes Against Children Central Florida Task Force found more than 3,000 videos and 350,000 pictures on his laptop featuring young girls performing sex acts with Robison. The laptop also contained videos of young girls using his restroom when they visited his home. more

UK - A trusted school caretaker hid a camera in staff toilets and made secret recordings for his own sexual gratification. Pervert Malcolm Banks had worked at Gosforth Academy, in Newcastle, for over 30 years before he decided to set-up the device and upload the subsequent footage on to his computer... The camera was eventually spotted by two teachers and it was handed to the headteacher before Banks was confronted. more

Spycam News: Former NASCAR Driver Sued for Spying on Ex's
Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and Roush Fenway Racing have been sued by Biffle's ex-wife and her mother for allegedly spying on them inside his home in Mooresville, North Carolina, with hidden cameras.
According to WSOC-TV's Allison Latos, Biffle is alleged to have hidden cameras "inside the house, including in the master bedroom, bathroom and in the guest bedroom where Biffle's former mother-in-law stayed."
The suit reportedly alleges Biffle, 47, spied on his ex-wife and ex-mother-in-law with the hidden cameras and showed the tape around. more

• “Roger” is a security guard. He’s vague on the exact details, but his jobs afford him access to several rooftops in the downtown area of an unnamed city. One of these roofs has a view of a high-rise hotel across the street. The building’s windows are so high up that guests tend to feel safe leaving the curtains open. So, Roger climbs out onto a ledge on the roof, trains his handheld high-zoom camera on the uncovered windows, and hits record. Then, if he happens to catch an unsuspecting woman, especially a naked one, he posts the video on the Internet. more
• Deputies in Chester charged a man with voyeurism Sunday after receiving a report that he hid a cell phone in a teen girl’s bedroom that took footage of her as she left the shower naked, police said. more
• A Kingston man has been charged by the Ontario Provincial Police in Quinte West after a woman reported a camera taking her picture. She had been in the changing area of a Trenton business when she noticed a camera taking a picture of her. At that time the OPP charged the accused with one count of voyeurism. more

Spycam News: A Darwin Award to Another Spy Who Shot Himself
OH - Judge Robert Peeler sentenced a former Deerfield Township maintenance man to four years in prison, for putting hidden cameras in women's apartments.
Gerald Rowe will also have to register as a Tier 1 sex offender. Rowe worked at the Steeplechase Apartments in Deerfield Township. A woman called police after finding one of his hidden cameras in the vent of her bathroom in May 2016, according to Prosecutor David Fornshell.
Warren County Sheriff's Office detectives found videos from four other apartments from February through May.

Spycam News: Security Check Nabs 'Moonlighting' Spy
TX - An employee of the National Security Agency in San Antonio is facing prison time for taking his agency's spying mission a little too far...
James Johannes pleaded guilty in Federal Court in San Antonio on Thursday to sneaking around outside the homes of his neighbors, and using his smart phone to take videos of little girls who were undressing, peeking through their windows and open doors.
Johannes was nabbed in a rather unconventional way. He was attending a meeting at Fort Sam Houston, and as he left, military police asked to check his cell phone. It is standard procedure to check the cell phones of people in secure areas to make sure there is no classified material on them.
The guards found videos of an underage girl getting undressed and stepping into the shower.
Other similar images were found on Johannes' cell phone, and one of the girls recognized him...because he was a youth leader at their church. more
